Diamond Bikes
Diamond Bikes (Czech Republic, Slovenia), local riding, rolling, skating community (Latvia)This year, the Accessibility Celebration has evolved into an open urban event, co-created by wheelchair users, skateboarders, roller skaters and the international female artists collective “Diamond Bikes”.Over the course of several weeks of collaborative work, members of these communities are working together to develop the programme for the celebration – from ideas and the script to the music, activities and shared space – thus becoming the creators and hosts of this event.
“Diamond Bikes”, which defines itself as a performative party service and creates “wild, alcohol-free celebrations”, organises visually striking and performative events in which collective celebration becomes a work of art. Music, movement, karaoke, performances and unexpected encounters invite everyone to get involved and discover the city from different perspectives.
The event is based on the belief that communities which appear to be different often have more in common than first meets the eye. The dialogue between wheelchair users and skateboarders reveals shared experiences, needs and relationships with the urban environment, broadening perceptions of accessibility, mobility and coexistence.
The Accessibility Celebration is an invitation to gather, celebrate and collectively build a city where everyone can feel that they belong.
We invite you to come to the skatepark behind the Latvian National Museum of Art on the evening of 5 September on wheels – in the broadest sense of the word – to experience creative self-expression and collectively reflect on a city where we can all live, create and celebrate together.

ABOUT ARTISTS
Diamond Bikes is a performative party service, formed by Sodja Zupanc Lotker, Zuzana Šklíbová and Lea Kukovičič, creating alcohol-free celebrations that explore parties as a practice of building relationships, paying attention, gathering, and creating inter-communal experiences. Rather than making parties bigger or louder, Diamond Bikes is interested in making them stranger, bolder, and more imaginative. Drawing on our backgrounds as dramaturgs, directors, performance makers, curators, and producers, we create concepts rooted in social space, inter-community practices, and collective imagination.

Mobility and environment
The event will take place in the courtyard of the Latvian National Museum of Art, which is an accessible and spacious area open to everyone. The museum’s outdoor facilities are not accessible for technical reasons. The nearest accessible facilities are at the Radisson Blu hotels in the vicinity.
Sensory environment
The event will have music and other visitors, so there may be a busier crowd. Visitors will be able to move about freely and choose how actively they wish to participate in the event.
Support
Festival volunteers will welcome and accompany guests, offering assistance if necessary.
This is one of the events organised by the Contemporary Culture Forum White Night 2026. The theme of this year’s forum is “The city flourishes where we are”, inviting us to think of the city as a living and changing space where participation, collaboration and a responsible attitude towards the environment are key.
