Anniversary Parade

Various artists

Every September, the International Festival of Contemporary Theatre Homo Novus invites city residents and visitors to experience contemporary theatre in an urban setting. In its 30th anniversary year, the festival wants to celebrate this tradition together with the broadest festival community and city residents.

We invite everyone who has ever been a part of Homo Novus, who has participated and feels connected to it, to join us in a joint anniversary parade, which will begin on September 6 at 18:00 at the New Theatre Institute of Latvia office (Miera iela 39).

The parade will pass by the festival’s past and future stages in the city, featuring various musical, informational, and performative performances. Finally, at around 22:00, the scenography of Dace Ignatova’s new performance The Tooth of Time and the Peelers of Silence will be on display by the Latvian National Opera and Ballet, and the electroacoustic group Alejas will premiere the music of the performance.

This is one of the events of the Contemporary Culture Forum White Night 2025, which is being implemented with the financial support of the Riga City Council. Information about all White Night 2025 events can be found on the website baltanakts.lv.
