Programma
15:00–17:00 Kaņepes Culture Centre, Skolas iela 15
Workshop
We warmly invite you to a collective sharing of war-related experiences through the arts. Together, we will create a safe and respectful space where we can take a step toward collective healing, while working with poetry and collage. Because we will be working with sensitive topics, we will use artistic methods that allow us to approach traumatic memories gently and indirectly. No art experience is required. All you need is openness to new ways of expressing your feelings and respect for diversity.
19:00–20:00 Riga Film Studio, Šmerļa iela 4
Performance “Mothers. A Song in Time of War”
20:30–22:00 Riga Film Studio, Šmerļa iela 4
“Ukrainian Night” dinner
During the “Ukrainian Night” dinner, we will turn to the performance as a starting point for further conversations and storytelling sharing. It will be an opportunity for the performers to share insights into their collective creative process, and for local Ukrainians to open up about their experiences. Together, during share meal we will explore what sisterhood, empowerment, and collectiveness might mean in a time of war. And also we would have an opportunity to sing together according to Ukrainian tradition.
